MIDLAND, Mich. (WJRT) – Dow will maintain Mid-Michigan as its residence for manufacturing, analysis and growth because of a $120 million grant accepted Tuesday.
The Michigan Strategic Fund Board accepted the grant aimed toward retaining about 5,000 jobs on the Michigan Operations Industrial Park in Midland and the Auburn Operations services in neighboring Williams Township.
“This venture invests in individuals and ensures we’re residence to cutting-edge R&D services. I’m grateful to Dow for betting on Michigan,” Gov. Gretchen Whitmer mentioned.
Dow is planning to enhance and develop manufacturing processes for silicone gels, coatings, encapsulants and different supplies used to make electrical autos. The Midland industrial park additionally will obtain upgrades to utilities.
State incentives for the venture embrace a $120 million grant, a 15-year tax exemption value over $454,000, a 10-year Renaissance Zone extension and early termination of an earlier tax credit score.
